CHAT SPORTS
The Chat Sports Premium Blogger Program was created as a platform for aspiring journalism students to become the “voice of the fan” for their team. We are looking for smart, passionate students who aspire to showcase their journalistic talents to a larger audience.
Our program has exploded since its launch in summer 2011. Our 175+ writers are powering over 1 million monthly page views and have been featured on Yahoo Sports, Sports Illustrated, and Fox News. Additionally, Chat Sports has been a launching pad for numerous writers’ careers. Our alumni have landed prestigious writing gigs for companies like ESPN, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, and the USTA.

Compelling, original content
We are looking for writers that can write about more than game analysis. Our writers cover juicy topics such as recruiting, draft overage, player profiles, rumors, upcoming matchups & breaking news. If the article isn’t awesome, it shouldn’t be published.
Monitor and utilize social media
You will be in charge of spreading the gospel of Chat Sports. From the Facebook fan pages to Twitter accounts, you are in control of your team’s social media presence. Here is your chance to show your friends and the world how really, really ridiculously awesome you are. Web traffic is the name of the game—and social media powers web traffic.
Monitor site content
In addition to your articles, Chat Sports features the best of the best content on your team from around the web. Blogs, local news, national sources and tweets are utilized to deliver a comprehensive news site. As a writer, you will be asked to monitor the quality of the featured content.
Media credentials
You will be given the opportunity to attend games as a member of the press. (free food too!)
Spearhead investigative assignments
From time to time, we may ask that you report on a specific that relates to your team as requested by the Chat Sports staff.
Product influence
Here is your chance to be an influencer in a growing startup. This is your product. If we can improve a feature or user process, let us know!

Remember, we are not looking for everyday writers. We don’t want to put our readers to sleep with mind-numbing game summaries. At Chat Sports, we want entertaining, eye-popping articles that are filled with controversy, creativeness or humor. If you wouldn’t share an article with your friends, it shouldn’t be published on Chat Sports.
Are you a college student majoring in journalism? We offer academic credit (with school’s approval) for students who are interested in building their resume.
