Southern Company, the parent company of Georgia Power and one of the leading electricity producers in the U.S., is offering a paid corporate communication internship for spring semester.
We are seeking:
• Junior or senior
• Minimum GPA: 3.0
• U.S. citizen
• Accepted majors: Communication, journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing communications, corporate communications, mass media studies, Web communications or other related field of study
Specific assignments may include, but not be limited to:
• Researching and writing articles for internal newsletter, followed by editing/coaching sessions with the editor
• Drafting news releases
• Drafting postings for company intranet site
• Assisting staff members with research, writing and proofreading support
• Handling assignments related to advertising or marketing communications
• Handling assignments in support of the company’s social media outlets
• Assisting with special projects, brochures, posters, PowerPoint presentations, meeting arrangements, website development, video production, etc.
Starting Pay Rate: $14.69 to $15.65/hour
