Job Description

OVERVIEW:

The Internet Marketing Manager is responsible for creating and maintaining compelling Internet publications and marketing collateral and for providing Web-related content/design support, help-desk support and research/measurement support for all vertical markets in alignment with the Bureau’s brand.

EXPECTATIONS:

The Internet Marketing Manager will demonstrate effective project management on all assignments from initiation through delivery and will ensure each project or assignment is completed on time and with superior quality, while staying within budget, working effectively and professionally with outside vendors (if applicable), handling and organizing all paperwork and documentation and keeping the Director of Marketing and appropriate staff updated with verbal and/or written reports.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Produce and manage day-to-day the necessary text updates, number/chart updates and graphical redesigns on all pages and sections of visitRaleigh.com and raleighsports.org, including writing, preparing images, maintaining expertise with the Bureau’s Content Management System and CRM and supplementing and supervising the work of Bureau bloggers or others contracted to assist with social media marketing.

 

2. Manage the Bureau’s social media marketing strategy by continuously researching, developing, testing and implementing new posts/tactics and by updating the overall strategy at least annually.

 

3. Manage all uses of the Bureau’s Distributed Marketing Platform, including its interface with the CRM, with specific goals toward putting all Bureau departments onto the platform and maximizing their usage of the platform.

 

4. Project-manage, produce content and provide research/measurement support for all email campaigns and Internet promotions, including creation of new webpages and tracking and reporting significant analytics of the campaigns and promotions, with goals toward continuous improvement.

 

5. Manage the development of new measurement tools to gauge the effectiveness of electronic publications, marketing programs and Bureau websites and serve as the Bureau’s go-to staff member for analyzing and improving destination marketing tactics that are not working effectively. Manage the implementation of new and better performance measures that bring the Bureau more in line with the Destination Marketing Association International’s performance reporting handbook.

 

6. Provide level-one help-desk support to all staff using the Content Management System and Distributed Marketing Platform, reporting level-two help tickets to the Director of Information Technology. Provide back-up help-desk support to partners using the visitRaleigh.com partner login.

 

7. Support executive, administration and sales staff by creating charts, graphs and other presentation materials in alignment with the brand.

 

8. Assist the Marketing Department and other departments with special assignments and projects as needed.

 

REPORTS TO: Director of Marketing

SALARY: $33,000 – $40,000, commensurate with experience
