Position Title: Public Relations Intern
Location: 8833 Gross Point Rd., Skokie, IL 60077
Position Overview:
The Public Relations Intern is a paid part-time internship position with the responsibility to engage in promoting or creating an intended public image for our client.
Critical Job Tasks
o Draft basic public relations materials including news releases, media alerts, fact sheets, client meeting summaries, status reports and other materials
o Carry out special and media event planning activities and arrangements as outlined by our clients
o Attend and participate in client meetings, presentations, and brainstorming sessions
o Assist with the development and update of media lists and other databases from our clients, marketing, and administration
o Study the objectives, promotional policies, or needs of organizations to develop public relations strategies that will influence public opinion or promote ideas, products, or services
o Prepare or edit organizational publications for internal and external audiences, including employee newsletters and press releases
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
o Communications and Media — Knowledge of media production, communication, and dissemination techniques and methods. This includes alternative ways to inform and entertain via written, oral, and visual media
o Client and Personal Service — Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction
o Clerical — Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems such as word processing, managing files and records, and other office procedures and terminology
Requirements:
o Current student pursing a bachelor’s degree or above (Preferred majors in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or English)
o 1+ years of relevant experience
o Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, etc.)
o Must pass background check
Compensation: Paid hourly
