MARKETING INTERN
BrightStar Care
Duluth, Ga.
BrightStar Care of Duluth and North Georgia is seeking a marketing intern to manage the companies SEO and on line presence. BrightStar Care is Atlanta’s premier provider of medical and non-medical in home care. We are an international franchise with over 250 locations in the United States, Canada and Europe. We were recently featured on Undercover Boss.
Qualified candidates must possess the following:
- Strong writing skills are a must, so a PR/Journalism major with an emphasis on marketing would be ideal.
- Self-starter who will be resourceful and stop at nothing to learn the business and the industry (i.e. setting up mini-interviews with your other employees to ask questions and understand what they do, referring to the Corporate blog, Facebook and Twitter accounts as a frame of reference for what they should be doing, etc.). Knowledge is part of doing the job, but the biggest thing is doing it and doing it regularly (which is why a good, creative writer is so important – content creation is HUGE, but more people know about your content when you promote it through other platforms, i.e. social media)
- Basic knowledge of geographic search engine optimization (SEO) best practices and ability to incorporate these into Web content (Web pages, blogs, etc.)
- Someone who naturally doesn’t want to work in a silo and can demonstrate ways they will engage and mobilize the entire team to help drive success in the various Web initiatives they manage
Responsibilities would include but not be limited to the following:
- Become a subject matter expert in BrightStar, our services, the industry, the people we serve (clients, their families, medical organizations, referral sources, etc.) and our local community. Be a thought leader on all aspects of the care we provide.
- Collaborate with subject matter experts and the entire BrightStar team to build appropriate materials. Join at the hip with the sales team and even caregivers to document the “how to” and the value of services to serve as a resource for all those we serve
- Produce high quality Web content including: “tip” videos, longer format help videos that add value for all those we serve, webinars, help articles, blog entries, etc. and maximize these great tools by brainstorming the best possible ways to share them
- Drive BrightStar’s social media strategy, constantly looking for ways to expand BrightStar’s reach and re-purpose new and existing content in creative and engaging ways
- Work closely with the clinical team to develop knowledge base articles that position BrightStar as the thought leader and expert; offer these articles to other industry blogs, Websites, etc. to serve as a guest author.
- Optimize and manage Yodle, update the websites, optimize Google Place listing, manage e-mail marketing thru Constant Contact, promoting BrightStar’s CareTogether program.
The individual chosen will work directly with the Vice President of Operations. We are willing to share measured effects of this intern’s effort. We have two different locations, one in Duluth and one in the Gainesville. Each location has different marketing needs. Individual would be required to meet with the Vice President in the Duluth office initially. Weekly meetings or conference calls with the Vice President would occur after initial training period. The hours worked are flexible. The estimated time per week would be 10 hours. This is a non-paid internship.
