Journalism Internships – Scripps Howard Foundation – Washington, DC

The Scripps Howard Foundation is looking for curious, energetic college juniors and seniors studying journalism to report from Washington during the spring and summer terms. Interns are paid a stipend and provided free housing in furnished apartments.

Interns find, report and write stories for the web-based Scripps Howard Foundation Wire, take photos, create slide shows and shoot and edit video. Spring interns will report on the presidential inauguration.

Semester in Washington takes six interns in the 14-week spring term and six in the 10-week summer term. A seventh intern works for the Hispanic Link News Service. Applicants should be juniors or seniors with previous internship experience or extensive work with student media. Applicants with multimedia experience will be given preference.

Program dates and application deadlines for Semester in Washington and Hispanic Link internships:

Spring 2013 (Jan. 7 to April 12). Stipend $2,520, plus free housing. Application deadline postmark: Nov. 1, 2012

Summer 2013 (June 10 to Aug. 16) Stipend $1,800, plus free  housing. Application deadline postmark: Nov. 1, 2012
