The Athlete Interactive (www.athleteinteractive.com) Writers’ Internship Program is designed to give college journalism students and aspiring journalists an opportunity to gain valuable experience and accumulate clips for their own portfolios. Each intern works directly with Athlete Interactive editors to help create content for the web sites and social media properties of one or more company clients.
We are currently looking to employ seven interns for one or more of the following: the duration of the current NFL season, the upcoming NBA season, the track and field indoor/outdoor season and more.
Intern Responsibilities
Interns are expected to work an average of five to eight hours a week, making contributions of content at regular, pre-determined intervals in a reliable fashion. Interns must have Internet access and a computer, and should be familiar with using the Internet, social media sites, word processing programs, and so forth. Intern responsibilities can include:
- Creation of stories for athlete web sites
- Research for athletes’ social media properties
- Marketing assistance
- Additional assistance to Athlete Interactive editors
Intern Requirements
Internship candidates must have at least a year of experience working for a college newspaper, preferably as a sportswriter, and must supply a resume and a minimum of five clips.
