ECU School of Communication — Public Relations Intern

Beginning Spring 2013

Selected student will work within the School of Communication assisting in all aspects of public relations, including traditional areas as well as new and social media. Successful candidate will: be responsible for student social media sites – Facebook, Twitter, Inner Pirate; write news releases; develop website content; assist with media relations, event planning and publicity. Good writing skills are essential; working knowledge of social media a plus. Photography, copyediting and design and website management skills also helpful. This internship affords the opportunity to help lay the groundwork for a solid communication plan for the School of Communication. Work schedule is flexible; however, candidates must be willing to commit to a weekly schedule with a minimum of 10 hours per week.  Intern will work under the supervision of Nancy Gray, part-time teaching instructor and communication specialist for the School of Communication.
