Clear Channel Radio Charlotte is now accepting resumes for WEND/WLKO Summer 2013 internships! We’d like to inform your students of this great opportunity. A Clear Channel Radio Charlotte internship provides once-in-a-lifetime opportunities for students to learn, observe, and experience the inner workings of a major market radio station by providing exposure to promotions, marketing, programming and sales. We’re looking for enthusiastic, outgoing and hard-working students who have a passion for music.
PROGRAMMING/PRODUCTION: Assist Program Director and staff with board operation, taking phone requests and general administrative support. Students will learn the production, dubbing and digital editing process of commercials.
PROMOTIONS & MARKETING: Students will assist in the creation and coordination of marketing and promotional activities. Must be creative, organized and be detail oriented. Also, must be able to work with others in a fast-paced environment, be a problem solver, dependable, hard working, and creative. And graphic design skills are a huge plus! Hours include evenings and weekends. Interns must maintain flexible availability. Students must have a valid driver’s license and insurance. This position reports directly to the Promotion Director and is a part-time position for College credit (if applicable).
SALES: Students would primarily learn phone etiquette, presentation skills, writing and production of radio commercials, qualitative as well as the quantitative computer software that applies to media sales. Students will also learn how to and the importance of interaction between advertisers and the radio station. Some light filing and typing will also be required.
 
Requirements:

  • Junior or Senior status at an accredited college
  • Must receive academic college credit ● NO EXCEPTIONS
  • Provide a letter from your college/university stating the class and number of credit units to be earned.  Credit must be awarded upon successful completion of your Internship.
  • Must adhere to Clear Channel Radio and Union policies and restrictions.
  • Must commit to a minimum of 16 hours per week.
  • Must be available nights and weekends.
