.Overview of Position:
The Bloomingdale’s Merchant Assistant’s primary function is to provide administrative and operational support to our buying teams. It provides a great opportunity for qualified candidates with a Bachelor’s Degree to transition into executive positions such as Assistant Buyer or an executive trainee in central support. Responsibilities will include:
Key Accountabilities:
Purchase Order Entry and Maintenance
Understand/research/resolve PO errors
ITEM/BASICS Maintenance
Resolve EDI errors and retransmit PO’s
Input price changes
Process/enter RTV’s and follow-up with stores
Process/enter vendor clothing allowances
Update and follow-up on shipping/receiving
Generate reports from Federated systems
Run system and download queries to Excel
Strong communication skills to resolve any vendor related issues
Request and follow-up on vendor samples for merchant meetings
Prep for advertising presentations
Track delivery for in stock position for Ads
Qualifications
Skills Summary:
The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication, organizational, multi-tasking and problem-solving skills. An aptitude to function within deadlines while working both independently and as a part of a team is essential. Proficiency in Excel and Word, a Bachelor’s Degree (or comparable work experience), and strong business analytical skills required. Retail store and/or retail buying internship experience are preferred.
