Your challenge:
We are currently seeking a Coordinator to join the Random House Speaker Bureau team. The Random House Speakers Bureau represents world-class authors, leaders, and thinkers. The division works to secure paid speaking engagements for its talent roster at corporate conferences, literary series, universities, and libraries across the world.

This position encompasses a diverse set of responsibilities and provides tremendous growth potential. The Coordinator will support the central business development and marketing efforts and act as a resource for the Agent Directors. The position will report to the Vice President of the Speakers Bureau. The Coordinator will provide general support to the team, and:

-Respond to general speaker inquiries from venue clients and potential sponsors by email and phone
-Coordinate with team and internal resources to optimize efficiency of processes and workflow
-Coordinate book sales for all Speaker Bureau events, working with our internal customer service group, the sales team and booksellers
-Support Vice President in business development efforts by preparing pitch materials and outreach efforts
-Support the Bureau’s Marketing Manager in creating and distributing promotional materials
-Coordinate team meetings with Agent Directors and publicity department heads
-Research marketplace, competition and best practices in the lecture agency space
-Coordinate processes for financial reporting documents
-Support the Vice President with administrative needs
-Support additional project work as needed

Your profile:
The ideal candidate has a BA in public relations, journalism, communications or a related field, as well as 1-2 years of relevant internships and/or professional experience.

Candidate should demonstrate exceptional verbal and written communication skills as well as the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a rapidly changing, fast-paced environment. Experience in book publishing is beneficial, but not required. Candidate should also be a self-starter with impeccable attention to detail and organizational skills. It is essential that the candidate is comfortable working in a small team environment and therefore possesses a proactive and independent approach to work, including excellent research and problem-solving skills.

The ideal candidate has experience with database systems, is savvy with social media, SEO, web development, Google Analytics, etc. and proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Outlook and Excel.
