Job Description:
Hitachi America, Ltd. (www.hitachi-america.us) is
seeking a college intern to support the Branding and
Corporate Communications Group specifically as it
relates to Social Media, Internal Communications and
Public Relations. This internship will provide an ideal
opportunity for a student interested in pursuing a
career in public relations or corporate communications
to gain “hands on experience.” Responsibilities will
include social media monitoring and support, traditional
public relations activities, corporate writing/
proofreading and providing support for branding
initiatives.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the
following:
- Provide support in maintaining corporate social media
activity on several different social media channels.
- Provide support for corporate branding initiatives.
Provide event support to Assistant Manager.
- Help draft, edit and proofread various types of
corporate communications pieces under direction of
Assistant Manager.
- Media list development and press release distribution
support.
Job Requirements:
- Must be a current college student with at least two
years of undergraduate work with some classes in
Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or related
field.
- Must possess an understanding of social media
platforms such as Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn.
- Should possess a basic understanding of public
relations tools and tactics.
- Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal
communications skills.
- Must have strong organizational skills and be detail
oriented.
- Proficient with MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and
PowerPoint).
