Social Media Intern

Onslow Community Outreach is seeking an intern with knowledge and understanding of the digital media landscape, including various social media websites. The intern will work closely with the Executive Director to help support online marketing and communications campaigns for the Outreach. Positions are unpaid and are offered to college students (undergraduate or graduate) as well as recent graduates.
Intern Duties
Specific internship duties include, but are not limited to: website updates, create and monitor blogs, forums and social networks, contribute to Outreach blog and to online donation and volunteer recruitment and promotion using Facebook and Twitter, and research and develop ways to improve engagement and site traffic.
Qualifications
Highly motivated, undergraduate or recent graduate in good academic standing and with a strong interest or background in social and human services studies and nonprofit issues; preferably a marketing, communications, journalism or PR major; good problem-solving and inter-personal skills; professional demeanor; ability to work with a diverse group of people; strong English language/grammar skills; and direct experience working with Social Media Channels (Facebook, Twitter, etc.)
