Responsibilities:
The Tommy Hilfiger Internship Program offers bright, motivated individuals the opportunity to receive mentorship, supervision, and training while gaining valuable and realistic hands-on experience and an introduction to the fashion industry. We have many exciting opportunities company-wide for the each semester including internships in the following divisions: Design, Merchandising, Global Marketing, Production Management, Planning & Allocation, Creative Services, Licensing, Graphic Design and Store Operations.
Design – Technical Design, Women’s/Men’s Apparel Design
Throughout our Design Division, students have been responsible for assisting in design of the sample room with image mounting and trim rigging, organization of the design room, research on various new design concepts, also assembly of presentation boards and other administrative duties. Intern will assist designers with mood boards, flats on Illustrator, putting together color rings for the season, and any other design-oriented tasks.
Graphic Design
This department requires help with various tasks on appropriate technical software. As an intern, you also get the opportunity to partner with the marketing department to understand what will be best suited for the target market while learning the administrative tasks used to keep consistency through graphics.
Marketing – International Marketing, Brand Marketing, Retail Marketing
Throughout this division tasks can include any sort of task revolving around new and upcoming campaigns for the company. That
could include assisting in photoshoots, working with press kits, helping to create new methods of advertising or any creative idea to derive customer demand.
Public Relations – Fashion PR, Entertainment & Celebrity PR, Special Events
Interns in the PR Department will help organize and maintain the samples in our press showrooms and press closet. Interns will assist us to manage and update our magazines archives. Additionally, interns will be responsible for updating and creating media lists for our team to use. Interns will help assist the PR assistants with sample trafficking and editorial requests. Our Spring interns
will have an exciting opportunity to help us prepare for our fashion shows and various events!
Creative Services – Marketing & Visual, Store Planning
Maintain Table of Contents for Weekly Directives, maintain directive folders on shared drive for Creative Services page on Intranet. Assist in the photo review process by printing and labeling each photo and filing them in the district’s binders. Organize and maintain Creative Services storage area (kid’s props, window props), source props for interior/ window displays. Help team organize the supply closet and assist in setting up showroom for window displays.
Merchandising – Men’s/Women’s/Kid’s
Assist merchandising team in functions such as: running sales reports, creating binders/boards for presentations, organization of current and future season samples, archiving old reporting, setting up recaps as well as the day-to-day functions such as copying, printing and handling sample requests for cross-functional team members. Also assisting in prepping for important meetings such as roll-outs, hindsight & buy presentations.
Visual Merchandising
Work with styling to create aesthetic appeal and understand placement of products on mannequins. Also as an intern in this department, you could be asked to prepare samples and help manage photoshoots.
Planning & Allocation
Work with the department to learn how to analyze opportunity while managing sales data through various databases. Also
this role can require research into new areas our company should tap into.
Production Management
Responsibilities range from assisting with design submits, learning various programs to manage costs and delivery tracking. Students truly get the opportunity to understand the process and be involved in assisting all areas of production to see how to achieve efficiency.
