Internship
Qualifications: To facilitate the learning experience, the following qualifications are preferred: should be able to commit to 12 weeks of the internship and work 20-40 hours per week. Must be available Tuesday afternoons for meetings. Students will be asked for proof of the credit prior to start of the internship. Candidate should be seeking a career in Communications, Public Relations and/or Marketing–should be self motivated with the ability to work with a team and function well in an environment with short deadlines and simultaneous multiple projects. Candidate should also have working knowledge of Microsoft Office and other computer programs, along with some experience in socials media/networking.
Duties: Please Note: Students @ Work Internships Program dates are 9/23 – 11/29. Interns are paid at minimum-wage and relocation is not provided. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL DURING THE TIME OF THIS INTERNSHIP). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program.

The internship is based in Atlanta, GA. Students will have the opportunity to learn and observe a number of functions within the department. They will assist the public relations team with daily tasks such as updating media lists, viewer relations, organizing press clippings, preparing press materials, etc. The intern will have the opportunity to be mentored by various persons in the department and assist in the execution of PR plans developed for various shows and network initiatives.
