PUBLIC RELATIONS FELLOW
Invisible Children
Obo, Central African Republic
Don’t do boring. Here is your chance to come alongside our team at Invisible Children and our international development work towards ending Africa’s longest running conflict in the central region.
This PR Fellow will have the opportunity to gain field experience and publicize Invisible Children’s projects in the Central African Republic. Help us communicate our work and keep the world updated on our latest program updates. As a member of this program, you will work alongside Invisible Children staff in our Obo office, and have the opportunity to gain professional field experience in an innovative and dynamic work environment.
By joining Invisible Children’s team in CAR, this will give you the opportunity to:
-Work closely with the CAR Project Officer to publicize IC’s projects: the Early Warning Radio Network, defection messaging, and work with local civil society groups.
-Act as a liaison with IC SD Communication Staff
-Distribute information about IC’s programs to the national and international partners and the United Nations OCHA.
-Publish IC content including photos, short videos, blog post, and program descriptions
-Build program staff capacity and skills
To be considered for this role you must have:
-A bachelor’s degree; previous coursework, internships, and/or experience in PR is preferred
-Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
-French and English fluency (absolute requirement)
-Knowledge about press, media, ad culture, and the ability to synthesize complex information into simple packages
-The ability to work independently and self-motivate
-And a love for travel is a must
Fellowship Details:
This is a 6-month fellowship and will begin immediately upon hire. Our fellow is expected to work 40 hours each week and receives a small nominal stipend for living expenses and housing will be provided. We will accept applications until the position is filled.
