Being an intern offers a rewarding, hands-on experience within define interest by providing an opportunity to gain practical knowledge of the daily operations in the assigned area via observations and shadowing. Intern responsibilities could include detailed project management, event planning and support, logistics, data base management, research/planning/analysis, web projects, public relations.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop and implement projects as assigned, which could include events, activities, programs orresearch studies.
Create and carry out a cohesive plan for each assigned project. Establish and maintain contact with all appropriate individuals to ensure that the plan is implemented in the best interest of the organization.
Execute all administrative and operational tasks for assigned projects.
Support and participate in the continuous assessment and improvement of the quality of services provided and projects produced.
Understand and comply with infection control, safety, and OSHA procedures and regulations, while meeting all in-service requirements as outlined in Personnel Policy 8312-702-92.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must be flexible and adaptable to unexpected changes and possess strong organizational, interpersonal, verbal and writing skills. Should be a self-starter with ability to make decisions independently and solve problems creatively.
Ability to represent Children’s in a mature and professional manner.
Ability to handle stress. Willingness to work long hours that could include evenings and weekends, if applicable to internship.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, Outlook). Other applications could be desired in assigned areas.
Must be able to travel through expanded Atlanta metropolitan area. Must provide reliable transportation. (If applicable to internship)
Clinical Focus:
College student with at least two years in a health sciences related program, such as Pre-med, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Statistics, OR post graduate student working towards a Masters in Science, Public Health or Medical Degree.
Research area: research experience necessary either through previous internship, work experience, or course work; practical knowledge about the conduct of research principals required.
Knowledge of medical terminology useful
Knowledge of basic statistical software useful.
Non-Clinical Focus:
College or graduate student that is currently working towards a Bachelor or Master degree in Journalism, Communications, Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration or other related field, required.
