Qualifications: Candidates should be self-motivated, able to multi-task, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in fast paced, high volume environment.

PLEASE NOTE: this show is a live early morning show with very early work hours and overnight hours might be required. In order to facilitate the learning experience, candidates should be seeking a career in media, journalism and/or politics.

Duties: Turner’s Students @ Work Internships are paid at minimum-wage and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Program dates for the fall are September 23rd through December 13th. Course Credit is available. Resume is required. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred). Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship and must be enrolled in school at the time of the internship. Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program.

Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner’s Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis. Future semester Internship postings will be available after the current semester deadline.

CNN’s early morning shows feature the latest news from a team of top journalists. Early Start and New Day are primarily live from the Time Warner Center in Manhattan, featuring high-profile guests and CNN correspondents from around the world.

Students will get first-hand experience learning how to build live programming from both an editorial and production perspective. Interns will strengthen their research skills; participate in futures meetings; use the various CNN’s databases to locate footage, tape and sound bites for packages and live air; accompany producers locally on stories in the field; and greet show guests among other opportunities. Interns have the opportunity to participate in how the show ideas are developed, how videotape is gathered and edited, and the script-writing process.
