Fall 2013 CNN Heroes Intern Turner Broadcasting – New York, NY

Qualifications: Candidates should be self-motivated, able to multi-task, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in fast paced, high volume environment.

Duties: Turner’s Students @ Work Internships are paid at minimum-wage and structured to last approximately 12 weeks. Program dates for the fall are September 23rd through December 13th. Course Credit is available. Resume is required. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred). Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship and must be enrolled in school at the time of the internship. Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program.

Due to the high volume of candidates for Turner’s Internship Program, interested students are encouraged to apply for openings as soon as possible, as these positions will be filled on an ongoing basis. Future semester Internship postings will be available after the current semester deadline.

CNN Heroes interns will be responsible for supporting producers, associate producers and production assistants throughout the production of CNN Heroes segments and specials. Interns will attend all weekly planning meetings. They will learn to use CNN’s databases to access video, conduct research and communicate with other departments within the company. Main responsibilities include logging, transcribing, research, dubbing, assisting with administrative tasks, searching for video and sound, and assisting with research on potential heroes. Interns are encouraged to pitch ideas.

Potential Opportunities: Interns may be asked to support producers in the field where possible, assist in the scripting process, sit in during editing, and to assist in production of this year’s CNN Heroes event.
