Since its opening in 1971, the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, FL has grown to feature four theme parks – the Magic Kingdom Park, Epcot Disney’s Hollywood Studios , and Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. In addition, more than 20 themed resort hotels, two water parks, and the Downtown Disney Area, a daytime and nighttime entertainment complex, are part of the Walt Disney World Resort.
Department Overview:
Disney Gift Card Services, Inc. is an enterprise entity established to manage Stored Value card programs for the Walt Disney Company. Some of Disney Gift Card Services’ responsibilities include: Business and Product Development, Marketing, Finance, Operations and Fulfillment. This includes partnering with the Walt Disney World Resort, Disneyland Resort, DisneyStore.com, Disney Store, Disney Cruise Line, Disney Vacation Club, Disney Interactive Studios, Disney Mobile, and corporate support partners.
Responsibilities
The Disney Gift Card Projects intern will support a variety of technology and operations initiatives related to management and development of stored value card programs. Responsibilities include:
Working with the Logistics Manager and 3rd party vendors to produce stored value cards and test data accuracy
Assisting the Technology Manager with project development tasks, including brainstorming, research, scheduling and documentation
Conducting Disney Gift Card show reviews and reporting
Creating/distributing internal communication to the organization
Organizing special projects as assigned
Basic Qualifications
These are the minimum qualifications you need to be considered for this position:
Currently a Junior or higher, earning a degree in Business, Management Information Systems,Communications, Project Management, Industrial Engineering, Logistics or related major
Demonstrated ability to pay strong attention to details
Self-starter with proven ability to work independently, as well as part of a team environment, to meet deadlines
Demonstrated outstanding verbal and written communication skills
Proven problem-solving and multi-tasking abilities
Use of critical thinking skills to optimize workflow efficiency
Proven experience handling confidential information and manage conflict to positive resolution
Ability to lift 50 lbs. for on-site distribution of product
Demonstrated ability to learn and master proprietary software systems
Demonstrated experience building presentations and project communication using Microsoft PowerPoint and/or Adobe Creative Suite
Demonstrated computer proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications
Currently at senior level or higher
Working Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Microsoft Project, SharePoint
Familiarity with Microsoft Access
Understanding of retail gift card programs
Entrepreneurial skills
Prior participation in the Disney College Program
Additional Information
Internship Eligibility:
Must be enrolled in a U. S. college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
Not have already completed two consecutive (spring/fall) College or Professional Internship Programs
Must possess unrestricted work authorization
Must provide full work availability
Must provide own transportation to/from work
Current Active Disney cast members must meet Professional Internship transfer guidelines (for Walt Disney World cast members this is no more than four points and one reprimand in the last six months; for Disneyland cast members this is six months of consecutive service and a performance record clear of any disciplinary issues (warnings, suspensions, etc.) for at least six months)
Program Length:
The approximate dates of this internship are January 2014 through June 2014. Interns must be fully available for the duration of the internship.
Housing:
A limited amount of company-sponsored housing is available on a first-come, first-serve basis.
