Southern Company, the parent company of Georgia Power and one of the leading electricity producers in the U.S., is offering a paid corporate communication internship for the Spring 2014 semester.
We are seeking:
Junior or senior
Minimum GPA: 3.0
U.S. citizen
Accepted majors: Communication, journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing communications, corporate communications, mass media studies, Web communications or other related field of study
Specific assignments may include, but not be limited to:
Researching and writing articles for company intranet site, followed by editing/coaching sessions with the editor
Drafting news releases
Assisting staff members with research, writing and proofreading support
Handling assignments related to advertising or marketing communications
Handling assignments in support of the company’s social media outlets
Assisting with special projects, brochures, posters, PowerPoint presentations, meeting arrangements, website development, video production, etc.
Internship will be M-F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. at our corporate headquarters in downtown Atlanta.
Starting Pay Rate: $14.69 to $15.65/hour
