Internship

Qualifications: Major in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or Marketing
Desire to learn and understand the field of public relations
Strong written and oral communication skills are a must
Ability to multitask
Flexibility with tasks assigned
Willingness to step in and help when needs arise

Duties: Develop and cultivate PR practitioner skills by observing and contributing to the Publicity campaigns surrounding TBS, TNT, TCM and truTV programming and marketing initiatives

To gain understanding of the business world and how PR plays a part in day-to-day activities of an entertainment company by attending meeting and researching as requested

Become familiar with the progress of developing and executing a PR campaign, specifically, creating press kits and writing press materials, as well as updating media lists and researching new outlets

Strengthen research skills by assisting in preliminary research stages of campaign planning, helping to identify unique angles and background information that may be useful in execution of the campaign

General administrative duties as assigned

Please Note: Students @ Work Internships Program dates are January 27th – April 4th ,2014. Interns are paid at minimum-wage and relocation is not provided. Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL DURING THE TIME OF THIS INTERNSHIP). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program.
