Through the GLOBE (Growing Leaders on Behalf of the Environment) internship program, The Nature Conservancy hires students and recent college graduates to fill paid internship positions during a 10-week summer internship. This is a unique opportunity for students and recent graduates to bridge the gap between what is learned in the classroom and on-the-ground work in the world of conservation. Additionally, the GLOBE program provides interns with the chance to directly work toward a sustainable future for our planet on the side of the Conservancy, the world’s largest environmental organization.

The Nature Conservancy offers GLOBE internships in the following areas: Conservation/Environmental Studies, Science, Information Technology (Computer Science), Marketing/Business, Marketing (Photo editing/Production Assistant), Communications, MBA Finance, Policy, Government Relations, Audit, and Philanthropy.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The intern will support the Strategic Communications team by helping to develop and create content reporting on work and achievements. That content will be used to inform various internal communications vehicles including the Strategic Communications CONNECT site and Marketing Essentials. The intern will also likely interview various project leads from the External Affairs division to create newsletter articles for the External Affairs (XA) quarterly e-newsletter. Additional support would include updating and expanding the External Affairs presence on nature.org, working on basic Business-to-Business outreach regarding corporate engagement and XA success stories, creation of basic collateral materials for corporate engagement and External Affairs, including the review of stories submitted through the Use Your Outside Voice website.

The intern will also create a plan to review/house existing policy communications materials and catalogue those materials in a database/spreadsheet that can be used to help the team repurpose content for future outreach and storytelling.
