Description Daktronics is recognized worldwide as a leader in the large electronic display industry. The company designs, manufactures, sells, and services a variety of display products for sports, commercial, and transportation applications. This position is within the product marketing group. The group provides accurate, quality sales literature relating to the operation, installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and promotion of Daktronics displays, control equipment, and software. As a qualified product marketing intern, you will research, write, and update a variety of materials for Daktronics products. The position offers you a valuable professional writing experience in a corporate environment with an exciting opportunity to create support documentation that will reach a number of Daktronics customers, ranging from professional sports teams to shopping centers. Ideal candidates have a desire to learn, excellent research abilities, and solid grammatical skills. This job appeals to someone who:

During the seven month internship interns will be responsible for completing the following experiences:

1. Conducting tours for vendors and clients, shadowing supervisors and professionals in the field, Toastmasters, management presentation, recruiting, shadow in another market, internship group participation, keeping daily activities log.
2. Work through the Cooperative Education/Internship Program at their accredited university and their Faculty Coordinator to arrange for credit while participating in this internship.
3. Write, assemble, and update marketing literature for Daktronics products and procedures.
4. Work closely with engineers, project managers, and sales personnel to produce quality documents. Study drawings, interview engineers and project managers, take product photos, and read previous literature to acquire necessary information.
5. Regularly and reliably work the hours necessary to complete job requirements.
9. Become knowledgeable of company policies and procedures.
10. Professional and responsible work performance.

Requirements

1. Pursuing or recently graduated with a bachelors degree in Marketing, Engineering, Mass Communication, Technical Communication, Technical Writing, or other related degree.
2. Internship begins January 13, 2014; required to take the Spring semester off from classes and work through middle of August 15, 2014. Work through the Cooperative Education/Internship Program at accredited university and Faculty Coordinator to arrange for credit while participating in this 7 month internship.
3. Acceptable GPA
4. Must have interest in writing and must demonstrate excellent communication skills. Please submit three writing samples that demonstrate knowledge in writing about technology. This may include manuals, research papers, newspaper articles, etc.
5. Fluent in English, both written and verbal.
6. Able to learn and write about technical subjects.
7. Able to work on and track multiple projects simultaneously.
9. Demonstrate ability and desire to accept responsibility and take initiative.
10. Background check may be conducted.
11. Ability to work well with others in a team environment, and to complete work in a timely and quality manner with minimal supervision.
12. A commitment and demonstrated ability for meeting deadlines.
13. Ability to work a reliable and dependable schedule.
