Wholesale – Women’s Footwear and Handbags Sales
Did you ever wonder how a major fashion house determines which products go into department stores and which go into specialty/independents? The job of the wholesaler is to make strategic decisions concerning product at the wholesale and retail levels to increase profits. This includes selecting the right merchandise mix, and choosing where goods are distributed and sold. This internship gives you the chance to work closely with the women’s footwear and handbag wholesale team, assisting them as they determine the items that will go in the line to sell to the retailers. In addition, the internship will provide insight into how to track the performance and profitability of the brand. The team’s focus is to ensure that our best women’s wear products reach consumers.
A candidate fit for us:
- Your education may include Business Management/Administration, Retail Sales, Merchandising and Purchasing.
- You love shopping and take every opportunity you can to browse malls, websites and outlet stores
- You have in-depth knowledge of the most popular merchandise and trends available at every season
- You have working knowledge of Excel and have taken classes in retail math
An internship fit for you:
- Assist Manager in preparing weekly selling reports identifying items that are selling/not selling
- Working with the team to maintain the sample closet of seasonal Women’s Footwear lines
- Attending business review meetings and retail account/market appointments to gain insight into writing orders with retailers
- Assisting in creating look books with design to better sell product to our retailers
- Learning how to manage a retailers Open-to-Buy
