The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing, Inc. (NASCAR) is the sanctioning body for the No. 1 form of motorsports in the United States. NASCAR consists of three national series (the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series, NASCAR Nationwide Series, and NASCAR Camping World Truck Series), four regional series, one local grassroots series and three international series. Job Description:

This 10-week, paid summer internship program is designed to expose diverse college and university students to the many career opportunities within the NASCAR industry. In addition to NASCAR, this program involves several NASCAR sponsors and licensees, NASCAR teams and tracks, and other motorsports-related companies.

The program is designed to support deserving students with an interest in the NASCAR industry, who are of Alaskan Native, American Indian, Asian/Pacific Islander, African American, Hispanic, or of other racial minority descent. Over 200 interns from across the country have participated in this program, some of whom have later moved on to full-time positions in the industry.

The NASCAR Diversity Internship Program is coordinated by the NASCAR Diversity Affairs Department.

Application process To be considered for a position in the NASCAR Diversity Internship Program, you must complete an application online and mail all supporting documents to, NASCAR c/o NASCAR Diversity Department 1801 W. International Speedway Blvd., Daytona Beach, FL 32114.

A completed application is considered to contain the following:

  • Completed online application
  • An official copy of the applicant’s current transcript (please request that your registrars office mail a sealed copy directly to NASCAR)
  • Cover letter
  • Current resume

Selection process
A screening of applicants will be conducted by NASCAR, using the following criteria:

  • Academic success
  • Areas of interest
  • Extracurricular activities and awards
  • Personal statement (writing sample)

From the initial pool of applicants, only a select group will be chosen to receive interviews. Telephone interviews will be conducted with the applicant. References may be contacted if necessary.
All material submitted for consideration may also be reviewed by each participating company and NASCAR.
Materials submitted for consideration will not be returned to the applicant.

Please note that in order to participate you must be currently enrolled in, or be considered a recent graduate of, an undergraduate or graduate degree program.
