Experience

Coursework focused on Marketing, competitive analysis, digital/social media marketing, and internships in the marketing or agency environments. Creative skills (ex: create infographics and dynamic presentations) expected. Recent college graduate or college senior preferred.

  • Must demonstrate the ability to gather and analyze competitive consumer marketing information and to prepare summaries with proposed action plans.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to support the Corporate Integrated Brand Marketing team members with specific toolkits and deliverables, including gathering information and ensuring the accuracy of communications.
  • Proficiency in Word and PowerPoint for Windows is required to format and share plans, promotions, consumer campaigns, and other product marketing information.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.

Requires both a high attention to detail as well as broad strategic thinking abilities (e.g. country/product and launch plans, communication strategies, etc.).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supports global consumer marketing and advertising programs by assisting Corporate Integrated Brand Marketing Managers:
  • Able to assist with multiple product categories as needed; skin care, color, fragrance, potentially including limited edition trend color collection deliverables, other consumer facing programs such as contests, etc.
  • Detail oriented approach to check information, assist with reviews, work with multiple internal teams to collect information and help move the toolkit process along.

 

  • Supports marketing toolkit/collateral development in the initial stages before briefing to internal Creative group; completing thorough competitive research for specific deliverables (i.e. advertising, videos) across product categories for global toolkits.
  • Serves as an integral part of development process of The Look product catalog including conducting through comprehensive reviews, information verification, detailed coordination with internal teams such as the global Creative team, assisting the Corporate Integrated Brand Marketing Manager with various key tasks as needed, etc.
  • Assist with quarterly product launch image planning
  • Performs process duties for supervising Manager on team and may suggest process improvements as appropriate

 

  • Performs analysis on social media sites as needed to understand trends, how assets are being used, etc. Creates presentations and info graphics with direction from team members that tell a story.
  • Shares point of view and ideas on how to reach out to, involve, and interest next generation consumers about Mary Kay’s products and overall brand.

  • Ability to work with all team members on the Corporate Integrated Brand Marketing team.
  • Manage a quick turnaround of reviews, work, and answers to questions to keep projects on track.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritizing assignments and requests from multiple project owners. The topics will vary, ranging from product category and product launch support to global program support, reviews and recaps, competitive analysis, and more.
  • Have experience and understanding of how to balance differing and sometimes mutually exclusive needs and requests. This will require creativity to come up with mutually acceptable solutions and requires prioritization skills so that the deliverables offer global markets something they can use.
  • A willingness to learn about the direct selling model, the beauty industry, Mary Kay’s brand positioning, and the role of the Independent Beauty Consultant in the business model.
  • Show attention to detail with ability to see the big picture as well.
  • Ability to be flexible, adaptable and show modular thinking. Must demonstrate global thinking and possess desire to work in a global environment, dealing with numerous diverse cultures and environments and the resultant complexity. At the same time, must be able to help the Managers on the team balance brand objectives and global strategies with local market needs.
