SUMMER INTERNSHIP PROGRAM
NFL Summer Internship Program participants have the opportunity to contribute to the organization’s success while receiving an unmatched, behind-the-scenes learning experience. Though interns work within specific departments, they are able to explore all aspects of the business of professional football through speaker presentations, mentoring relationships and networking opportunities.
Program Details:
Selected applicants are placed within the NFL based on interest, experience, academic coursework, and the NFL’s business needs. Past assignments at the League Office have included the following departments: Communications & Public Affairs, Human Resources, Information Technology, Internal Audit, Labor & Legal, and Media.
The summer program runs from Monday, June 9th through Friday, August 8th. Please note that some departments require their interns to work past the August 8th end date. If so, this will be communicated to the applicant during the interview process.
The program will require interns to work 5 full days (approximately 40 hours) per week. Interns will receive a weekly stipend.
SELECTION DETAILS:
 -All prospective interns must be currently enrolled undergraduates entering their senior year in the fall of 2014. Prospective legal interns must be law students currently enrolled at and returning to school in the fall of 2014.
 -First consideration will be given to undergraduate students with an overall GPA of at least 3.0 and law students in the top half of their class.
 -Students must be within the United States at the time of the interview process, which will begin in early February 2014. Selection decisions typically are made by the end of March. Please note that these are projected timelines and are subject to change.
 -Applicants must be legally permitted to work in the United States and international students must have all visas and employment authorizations prior to the start of the internship. Completion of this application assumes eligibility to work in the United States.
 -Academic transcripts (official or unofficial) will be requested.
 -A completed application constitutes the completion and submission of all relevant fields in the profile, including the program specific questions and résumé. Applications must be submitted by Friday, January 31st, 11:59PM EST. NO EXCEPTIONS WILL BE MADE FOR THOSE WHO MISS THE APPLICATION DEADLINE!

The internship program is designed as an educational experience for qualified students and does not constitute a contract of employment. Company employee benefits, including but not limited to vacation, sick days, bonus or health and welfare plans, are not available to participants in the internship program.

FAN STRATEGY & MARKETING
The NFL’s Marketing department is responsible for preserving and capitalizing on one of the NFL’s most valuable commodities, the NFL brand. Through careful placement and utilization of our logos, the department is charged with developing and expanding our fan base and creating a demand for our product that extends well beyond the NFL football season. The Marketing department works with our clubs to increase revenue streams by presenting new business opportunities, communicating best business practices, building database marketing and developing new programming strategies.
Internship description

Responsibilities may include:
Assist with projects such as NFL PLAY 60 and NFLRUSH
Create an NFL Marketing logo database
Assist on the planning and execution of the League’s Back to Football marketing campaign
,
Assist with promotion for a new NFL PLAY 60 contest
Required experience and skills:
Marketing background or degree
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and Outlook,
Previous experience in an office setting
Knowledge of or experience in the fields of events and/or sponsorship
Student should possess excellent organizational and communications skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Positive and friendly demeanor and a strong work ethic.
Proficient computer skills, including the operation of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
