Our Summer Internship Program offers the unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience working in a corporate environment and to gain valuable exposure to the healthcare/insurance industry. As a member of the Legal, Compliance, and Ethics team you will apply your love of ethics to make the privacy of our stakeholders a top priority. We welcome your sharp judgment, sense of responsibility, and moral standards to a group that helps our organization follow the rules and regulations that govern the insurance industry and hold true to the BSBSNC Code of Conduct. This team’s functions include: Records Management, Health Policy, Internal Controls, Enterprise Risk Management, Ethics, Auditing, and Corporate Compliance.
• Assist with the administration or coordination of project and/or program duties.
• Track, document, and assist with the resolution of issues for a project/program for the full inventory and life cycle of the projects/programs.
• May collect information from assigned projects/programs to build estimation models.
• Ensure estimation, budget, issue, and analysis information is available to project/program leaders. Document and communicate changes to policies and procedures made in conjunction with leadership.
• Provide trend reports for projects/programs.
• Provide ad hoc reporting for business partner areas.
• Develop and maintain work plans with leadership.
• Provide reporting against project/program/departmental management metrics.
For the 2014 Summer Internship Program, we will be recruiting a Business Analyst intern for our Office of General Counsel.
Requirements
• Must be able to work up to 40 hours per week.
• Must be able to provide own housing during summer in the Chapel Hill/ Durham area.
• Must be a rising senior working toward a bachelor’s degree OR currently pursuing a master’s degree in a following or related area: Business, Business Administration, Computer Science
• Must have experience with Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must have excellent interpersonal, collaborative and team building skills.
• Must have the ability to think analytically, present ideas professionally, and work in project teams.
• Must be able to work independently as well as with a team to effectively meet or exceed business objectives with various organizational levels and business areas.
• Must be a US citizen or have work authorization
