Position Summary:
The Graphic Design Intern contributes to marketing efforts of the American Junior Golf Association through the visual space including media such as web, print, social media, devices and multimedia campaigns.
 
Responsibilities:
• Oversight and production of monthly digital magazine, The Insider
• Production of new event logos, multimedia campaigns, physical collateral and other brand- or client-facing materials
• Lead and assist with the creative development of the AJGA and sponsor campaigns
• Adhere to and help develop branding guidelines for the AJGA and its partners
• Support special projects as needed
• Maintain archival media and sample libraries
• Improve overall staff knowledge of graphic design principles and techniques
 
Qualifications Required:
• A thorough knowledge of graphic design as normally obtained through the completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, Journalism or Advertising
• Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite CS5 or higher
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Portfolio outlining work completed
• General knowledge of sports branding and multimedia communication
• Ability to operate independently but be a key part of a team
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment with high volume
• Creativity, innovation and problem-solving abilities
• Must meet deadlines while managing multiple projects
• Attention to detail and desire to seek feedback
• Strong desire for improvement, training and skills-development
 
Preferred Qualifications:
• 1-2 years related experience through internships or full-time employment
• Social media savvy (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Google+)
• HTML / CSS knowledge a plus
• Copywriting ability desired
• Golf knowledge desired
