Are you a creative promotional guru? Would you consider yourself a jack of all trades? WJBF News Channel 6 is the #1 station in the Augusta, Georgia area and we are looking for the #1 summer intern to keep us that way. News Channel 6 is a fast paced, ever-changing workplace and we are seeking an intern who won’t fall behind. As an intern with us, you will learn a variety of skills that will set you apart from the rest. We hope to give you a hands-on experience, building both your resume and our brand.
Our ideal candidate can multitask like no other. Organization is a must. We want someone who can see the big picture, without forgetting all of the tiny details.
Job Duties:
-Assisting our Marketing Coordinator in the planning, executing  a wide variety of station events
-Promoting our partners and programs through social media platforms
-Organizing marketing materials and suggesting ideas for new promotions
-Assisting in the development of television promos
-Developing skills in video editing
-Helping host meetings and maintaining relationships with our partners
-Bringing new, creative and fresh ideas to long-standing traditions
-Community outreach and communication with local organizations
Requirements:
-Must be gaining college credit and pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Advertising, Business or other related professions, as this is an unpaid internship
-Organized with the ability to prioritize time-sensitive assignments
-Interest in marketing and event coordination
-Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
-Detail oriented and self motivated
-Enthusiasm for the television industry
We truly value our interns and hope to give them the best experience possible, but intern type responsibilities do come with the job. We are looking for someone who can create our next big idea, but doesn’t mind making copies. Our interns will be exposed to tons of networking opportunities and will experience all of the different facets of the news station. Interns will be expected to work 15-20 hours a week or more if they choose.
