Digital Content Internship – Summer 2014 – Columbus Blue Jackets (Columbus, OH)
The Digital Content Intern will assist in maximizing awareness of the Columbus Blue Jackets digital space. Using assets and information provided by the Digital Content Department, the Digital Content Intern, drawing on his or her knowledge of social networks and online marketing to enhance and grow enthusiastic end-user communities. This individual will assist in a variety of functions related to the operation of bluejackets.com.
Primary Responsibilities:

• Assist in producing content for web, social media, message boards, and live chats.
• Work in conjunction with the Digital Marketing Department on organizing and updating content for the team’s website through customized CMS .
• Utilizing Adobe Suite and other third party vendors to design and build new pages for the club’s communication channels (website and social media platforms).
• Develop and maintain an excellent working relationship with various Columbus Blue Jackets departments.
• Assist in the development of a comprehensive report on all things community.
• Create content to keep the user constantly engaged.

Requirements:

• Must be a current college sophomore or above. Majoring in journalism, communications, or other digital related field strongly preferred.
• A working knowledge of the National Hockey League, specifically the Columbus Blue Jackets.
• Currently active in social media.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work in the fast-paced online cyber environment.
• Must be self-motivated and have strong organizational skills.
• Excellent time management skills.
• Must have excellent grammar and proofreading skills.
• Ability to work as a member of a team environment.
