Please Note: truTV summer internships are paid at minimum-wage and structured to last approximately 12 weeks beginning in early June. Course Credit is available. Students should have a strong academic record (3.0 strongly preferred). Students must have completed their sophomore year in college prior to the start of the internship. In addition, students may not have graduated college or graduate school prior to the start of the internship (i.e. STUDENTS MUST BE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL DURING THE TIME OF THIS INTERNSHIP). Students seeking college credit are strongly encouraged to apply. Note to International Students: All international students will be required to provide documentation of proper visa paperwork prior to your arrival if accepted to the program.

Internship Description:
The truTV Programming intern will have exposure to a variety of aspects of television production, including the opportunity to see how show ideas are developed and integrated into primetime programming. They will learn the basics of how videotape is gathered and edited, the script-writing process, and the various layers involved in building shows from an editorial and production perspective from start to finish. Interns work with editorial staff throughout the production process to ensure all departmental needs are met, and will play an integral role in researching potential new show ideas, characters, interesting locations, and other media trends.
Primary duties include (but are not limited to): Searching and reading specific Internet media for unique story ideas; updating and organizing production deliverables as well as story pitches; transcribing tape; logging video; staying aware of current events to integrate that knowledge into pitches; and other basic administrative tasks.

Required Qualifications/Skills:
In order to facilitate the learning experience, the following qualifications/skills are preferred:
-Some exposure to television production; should be majoring in and/or seeking a career in film and television, or journalism
-Proven interest in the entertainment industry and TV production
-Exceptional web-based research skills and proficient in Microsoft office
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills, and organizational ability
Candidate should be hard working, self-reliant, self-motivated, able to multi-task, attentive to detail, have a good attitude, and be able to function well in a fast-paced environment with short deadlines.
