TECHNICAL PRODUCER
Mutual of Omaha
Mutual of Omaha, proud sponsor of life’s aha moments, is a full-service, multi-line organization providing insurance, retirement, banking and investment products for individuals, businesses and groups throughout the United States.
In 2014 the Mutual of Omaha ‘Aha Moment Tour’ will crisscross the US in a 34-foot Airstream mobile studio for its 5th year, filming real people’s life-changing moments of inspiration. Since it’s inception, the Aha Moment Tour has filmed nearly 4,000 aha moments, with over 40 of those interviews becoming nationally televised commercials for Mutual of Omaha’s aha moment campaign.
This summer the Tour will make 2-day stops in 20 towns and cities across the country and will last approximately 3 months. We are looking for a special, enthusiastic, passionate, hardworking and creative team of three to travel as a crew and seek out & document these special stories.
***Note: We are seeking individuals looking for short-term full time work – not Production Companies or Agencies. Hiring Organization is Mutual of Omaha’s Agency/Production Company for this Campaign.
The Technical Producer will be responsible for camera + lighting setups, data management and delivery, and film production/editing. You are technically experienced (and have a reel), dynamic, highly motivated, energetic, positive, and fascinated by learning about every person you meet. You can juggle multiple responsibilities in a fast paced environment and deal with problems as they arise in a calm & collected way, all while wearing a smile.
Responsibilities of this position include:
• Technical Producer: Camera & lighting setup/adjustments, audio/video setup and testing, QC of all material as it’s recorded, as well as transferring of files, burning of DVDs, etc. You’ll also need the skills to troubleshoot – the trailer has a fairly complex lighting, power, cable, computer and drive setup that will need attention from time to time.
• Blog Producer: A huge component of traveling with this Tour is documenting the journey itself on our tour travel blog. You’ll document the aha moments found during AND outside of set filming hours by producing video/photo/written content, and showing the adventures/people/places from your travels on the road. This will require the crew to work as a team to create a compelling & creative Blog Editorial Calendar and meet strict deadlines. Blog production will involve all crewmembers filming, writing, editing, and/or posting on the blog after each scheduled filming day ends.
• Social Media Manager: The Technical Producer will collaborate with the team to help manage the Tour’s presence on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube, and other social outlets.
• Assistant Producer/Director: When necessary, fill in for the Content Producer during interviews that take place inside the studio (with a set list of questions, but should also able to improv and go “off script” when it makes sense).
Requirements:
• Available for approx. 3-5 days for a test shoot in March 2014.
• Available to travel full-time from May through August (100% travel).
• Film Production + Editing Background. Online Reel.
• Extremely organized, detail oriented, professional and personable.
• Fascinated by human-interest stories.
• Loves to travel, energetic and easy-going; works well with a team in high-stress situations.
Compensation will be based on experience and will be a flat rate for the approx. 3-month Tour.
Please send your resume, reel, and a cover letter detailing why you would love to be a part of this project toansley@seesparkgo.com.
