Position
GoPro is seeking a top tier candidate for the Media Relations Intern role. This intern will support media relations team on all aspects of program including pitching, writing, coverage tracking and reporting, awards research, event preparation and planning, inventory management and administrative tasks.
Responsibilities
Monitoring media coverage, analyzing quality and tone (positive, negative, neutral) and reporting
Evaluating inbound emails / phone calls from media and social influencers – routing them to right person on the team
Continuing to build key databases of media contacts
Support organizing key summer press event
Support preparing materials for product launches
Writing support for press kit materials, pitches, in bound requests, etc.
Support in regulating inventory supplies, and seeding cameras to media outlets
Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in Public Relations or Communications
Personable, conversational
Organized and able to multi-task
Proficient in Office programs including Excel, Power Point, Word
Proficient writing skills
Understanding of media/editorial landscape (print, broadcast, online, social)
Independent and critical thinking
Problem solver
Light lifting (cameras, mounts, shipping boxes)
Must have a valid driver’s license
Housing and housing allowances will not be provided. Cardiff living accommodations are required.
Preferred
Previous internship in public relations agency or department
Passion for athletics/sports/outdoors
Previous experience using a GoPro camera
