Showtime Networks Inc. (SNI) is looking for passionate college students to join us in our upcoming Summer Internship Program. The program will run from June 9th through August 1st, and will have a schedule of Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM (ET).
Our network’s internships are professional and learning experiences. As such, they present priceless opportunities for students that want to learn the workings of a fast-paced, groundbreaking, and successful cable network. This is a paid internship program. Proof of course enrollment from an accredited academic institution must be provided prior to start date.
In order to be considered for this program, your online expression of interest must include your resume AND a cover letter. Available opportunities, and brief descriptions, as follow:
Digital Marketing: The intern will develop skills in project management; digital marketing campaign development and execution; social media strategy and implementation; platform/technology exploration; and, analytics of executed campaigns.
Multi-Platform Interstitial Planning & Scheduling : This internship will specifically work with the scheduling department to understand and execute media philosophy, trends and insights. The intern will play a pivotal role in providing Senior Management with a competitive review.
Media and Promotions : The intern will work closely with respective teams to gain a basic understanding of consumer entertainment advertising with specific focus on media planning and promotional tactics.
Program Marketing & Advertising : The chosen intern will assist in all advertising tactics (print/TV/online/outdoor) and components of the marketing plan for the summer series (Dexter/Ray Donovan). Track the competitive landscape and trends in the entertainment industry. Shadow managers and directors in planning meetings for fall/winter series to understand the marketing and advertising process.
Account Management : The chosen intern will work with the Account Management team and learn about the production of print, broadcast and digital advertising and marketing tactics.
On Air Design : The Broadcast Design intern will be exposed to all facets of motion design, from concept to storyboards, animation to sound design, photography to film. The intern will be exposed to basic design principles of layout, composition and typography.
Program Planning & Scheduling : The intern will work with his/her Supervisor in researching competitive data used for updating a variety of charts and competitive programming models. He/she will also be trained in the process of screening programs and writing evaluations.
Strategy, Analysis & Communication : The intern will work on competitive tracking, monitor pricing and packaging trends, assist with updating news and announcements on Shoogle homepage, prepare and disseminate reports, research and test apps for business use.
Affiliate Finance : The chosen intern will work closely with our Sr. Financial Account Manager in: payment processing and collection activities; managing data updates for reporting; research audit variances.
Showtime Sports : The chosen intern will be involved in sports marketing, communications and public relations related to all of our sports properties. He/she will be assigned varying tasks pertaining to Showtime Sports Boxing, and other Sports programming. A strong interest and knowledge in sports, a plus.
Smithsonian Channel – Consumer Marketing : The chosen intern will develop an understanding of consumer marketing for television network and programs. The intern will support efforts in developing positioning statements, target demographics, and competitive research.
Smithsonian Channel – Digital Media Marketing : The chosen intern will assist with the development and execution of Digital Marketing and Social Media Marketing tactics.
Smithsonian Channel – Affiliate Marketing : The chosen intern will work in conjunction with the Affiliate Marketing Manager on a 12 month calendar that outlines key marketing campaigns & promotional milestones. The intern will present a marketing initiative that leverages affiliate partnerships as well as competitive analysis of the distributor marketing landscape
Corp Communications – Awards & Public Relations : The intern will learn everything from rules, eligibility and strategy concerning awards; maintain awards calendar, maintain list of premiere dates. The intern will learn all aspects of publicity for a television network including campaigns, operations, clips, press tours and working with talent and media.
Business Development/Showtime Anytime : The intern will be involved in research and analysis, usability assessment of traditional and non-traditional competitors and support department in promotional operations.
Digital Distributor Marketing : The chosen intern will assist in developing digital/online tactics (banners, emails, web pages, social media etc.) to drive subscriber acquisition and tune-in/retention. The intern will have an opportunity to prepare campaign reports, presentation and competitive analysis while managing an archive of online projects and distributing marketing materials to partners and sales.
Human Resources : Intern will develop superior organization skills and learn how to work in a fast paced environment. Intern will be exposed to all facets of the Human Resources Department, including recruiting – sourcing, scheduling & interviewing, processing Invoices and renewing temporary assignments
Required Qualifications

    • You must be Current college student (rising junior or above)

 

    • You must be in New York and available to work on June 9th – August 1st

 

    • 2.50 GPA or above

 

    • Strong Interest in the Cable/Entertainment Industry

 

    • Superior communication and interpersonal skills

 

    • Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

 

    • Exceptional attention to detail

 

    • Able to work in a fast-paced environment under deadlines

 

    • Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously

 

    • Ability to work and prioritize work assignments

 

  • Able to provide administrative support as needed
