Internship
We are looking for motivated and proactive Interns to join our Team at our U.S. corporate office in New
York for a six month time period from July 2014 through January 2015.
Responsibilities:
The HUGO BOSS, Fashions, Inc. USA Internship Program offers students the chance to experience a
dynamic working environment during an Internship in the USA. All Interns are fully integrated into the
team while working on their own projects and are responsible for supporting the daily business.
We offer many exciting Internship opportunities company-wide for six months in the following divisions:
Sales, Sales – Latin America Division, Merchandising, Public Relations, Retail Marketing, Social Media,
Retail Buying / Planning, Visual Merchandising, Production, Planning, Finance, Human Resources,
Training, Total Rewards, Information Technology and Travel Retail.
Sales – HUGO, Sports wear, Bo dywear, Tailored Clothing, Dress Furnis hings , Women’s, S hoes
& Accessories
Interns in our Sales Divisions will be responsible for the showroom set-up as well as the market season
preparation. They will be able to actively participate in the customer’s buy and assist during the
complete ordering process. Further tasks include preparing reports for customers, establishing Selling
Reports, tracking deliveries as well as communicating with the German Headquarter and with major US
Department Stores such as Macy’s, Bloomingdales, Nordstrom and Saks 5t h Avenue.
Sales – Latin America Division
Throughout the Internship, the Intern will prepare sales tools for market season such as swatches and
spreadsheets, assist in setting up the showroom with the collection samples, conduct launches, as well
as assist in the process of presenting and selling the upcoming collection with Account Executives.
Interns in the Sales – Latin America Department are expected to interact in Spanish with our major
clients in Mexico and Columbia.
Merchandising
The Intern of our Merchandising Department will assist with the launch of upcoming collections. Further
tasks will include preparing detailed invoices for mass production of merchandise and analyzing sales
statistics as well as maintaining the client data base and order. The Intern will also be responsible for the
comparison of season-to-season orders.
Public Relations – Men’s & Women’s
Interns in our PR Department will assist the Manager of Public Relations with all aspects of editorial
product placement including but not limited to working with editors to select clothing for magazines,
providing proper credit information in a timely manner to Magazines for featured items, track samples,
organizing fashion events, parties and maintaining VIP lounge, stockroom and showrooms as well as
providing support in writing press releases.
Retail Marketing
While interning in the Retail Marketing Department, Interns will get an insight into the Retail Marketing
Planning process for the upcoming season. The Intern will be responsible for generating point of sales
material, giveaways and shop equipment order forms, organizing the current stock as well as creating
and updating the Retail Marketing event calendar. Furthermore, our Intern will support the Director of
Retail Marketing with all daily responsibilities and special projects such as writing event reports.
Social Media
As an Intern in our Social Media Division you will be expected to fulfill Public Relations requests as well
as to organize the PR closet. Furthermore, tasks will include but are not limited to Social Media research,
tool implementation as well as creating Social Media round-up’s and summaries focusing on Twitter.
Interns are moreover required to execute other special projects as assigned such as Public Relations
wardrobing, product placement material request fulfillment and communicating with our LA PR agency.
Visual Merchandising
As an Intern in our Visual Merchandising Department you will be able to gain an insight into the targeted
styling of window displays of our HUGO BOSS Stores as well as monitor the major Department Stores
such as Saks 5t h Avenue, Mac y’s and Bloomingdales in order to assure that the company’s visual
standards are complied with. The Intern will furthermore be responsible for setting up and maintaining
the showroom and clubroom for the market season and will help organizing and coordinating events.
Retail Buying / Planning
As a member of our Retail Buying / Planning team, the intern will support all department tasks including
but not limited to retail analysis, supply chain management and strategic merchandise assortment
planning. Responsibilities will also include assisting with weekly merchandise reporting, daily office
functions and ad hoc analysis projects from AG Headquarters. Additionally, Interns in our Retail Buying /
Retail Planning Department will get the possibility to assist with store merchandising functions such as
visual display, folding, and re-stocking as well as with the basic replenishment for our Directly Operated
Stores (DOS) and our Factory Outlets (FO).
Travel Retail
The internship candidate will support the Travel Retail Department across many different professional
functions and receive an introduction into the Travel Retail Business Model. This includes sales, buying,
merchandising, product lifecycle, open-to-buy planning and regional KPI reporting. Moreover, the Intern
will be responsible for following-up with customers and making order recommendations as well as
assist with the organization and accumulation of monthly Visual Merchandising reports and contracts.
The Intern will also be involved in the seasonal market process and will therefore analyze seasonal
selling by brand, gender, line, product area and main product group as well as attend market
appointments and assist with order entry.
Production
Responsibilities of our Production Intern include tracking all incoming samples, assist with the
organization of samples, swatch cards and other sales tools in the showroom prior to market season a s
well as recording all incoming sample invoices for accounting. Furthermore, the Intern will prepare
reports for the merchandising team as well as seasonal Trend Reports and will therefore get familiar
with the Business Intelligence System. Miscellaneous projects such as creating best-selling style sheets
by model and fabrication for each brand and dress shirt references swatches will be executed by the
Intern as well.
Planning
The Intern in our Planning Department will receive tasks such as running, formatting and uploading the Production &
Inventory Report onto our shared Web Server. Furthermore, the Intern will assist in preparing documentation for
Inventory Meetings, manage all projection files and support the team with setting up new styles and size scaled as well
as updating GXS catalogue requests.
Finance
Tasks of the Intern in our Finance Department will include Strategic Financial Planning, General Accounting, Retail
Financial Planning as well as Crediting. The Intern will assist with preparing budget presentations as well as with the
nationwide budget process for manufacturing, distribution, sales and finance cost centers. Further areas of responsibility
include Accounts Receivable as well as Accounts Payable for all vendors, T&E expense and reimbursements and
Corporate Bank Accounts.
Human Resources
The Human Resources Intern will be assisting the Human Resources Generalist with managing the HUGO BOSS
Fashions, Inc. USA Internship Program. Tasks will therefore include reviewing all internship applications, coordinating
interviews, conducting phone interviews and assisting in selecting qualified candidates. The Intern will be responsible for
assembling new-hire packets, conducting the Intern Orientation as well as for acting as a liaison for current interns while
providing support with any issues, concerns or complaints. Furthermore, the Intern will assist with the employee
performance management process and has to handle confidential information with integrity.
Human Resources – SAP & Benefits
As an Intern in our HR Benefits Division you will support the Total Rewards Manager with all HRIS/SAP/Benefits related
functions at HUGO BOSS for the United States including, but not limited to SAP Recordings and General Maintenance
(new hires, terminations, change of status), as well as SAP Reporting such as audits and reviews. Moreover, the intern
will be responsible for managing and organizing incoming employee paperwork as well as updating New Hire and
Benefit Personnel files while assisting with general administrative functions related to SAP/HRIS/Benefits.
Human Resources – Training Americas Division
As an Intern in the Training Division of the HUGO BOSS Human Resources Department you will support the Training
Manager for the Americas in updating of our regional onboarding tool, the Brand Ambassador Handbook. Furthermore,
you will assist with the training event coordination including preparation, evaluation setup and reporting. The main
responsibility of the Intern will be offering eLearning Management Support including but not limited to User management,
eLearning completion reporting as well as eLearning trouble shooting.
Information Technology
Responsibilities of the Intern in our Information Technology Department will be creating new templates and formats used
for project management and project reporting as well as creating project related presentations. While working closely
together with local, regional and global IT teams, the Intern will analyze data, prepare reports related to diverse projects
and perform research due to new IT or business requirements. Moreover, the Intern will create new or update existing
process documentation, training documentation as well as system workflows.
Qualifications:
Must be a current full-time student or have graduated in the last 12 months
Studies in Fashion, Economics or General Business Management
Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
Excellent time management and organizational skills, including the ability to prioritize work effectively
