Overview:
We are seeking an entry-level candidate to join our team as Public Relations Coordinator. The PR Coordinator will be a hard-worker and go-getter who is able to thrive in a fast paced, ever changing work environment. Time management and organizational skills are a must.
The role works closely with the PR Director to obtain positive visibility and awareness for the brand as the leader in the fitness industry. Major areas of focus include prospecting potential stories, writing press releases, updating media lists and facilitating photo shoots, interviews and TV segments.

Responsibilities:
- Execute day-to-day public relations tasks, including creating clipbooks, PR recaps and call sheets, generating story ideas, press releases and media alerts, and facilitating photo shoots, TV segments and interviews.
- Research new media contacts, stay apprised of industry trends and update/manage current media lists.
- Work directly with the Franchise Marketing team to ensure press releases are written in a timely manner and distributed to the press.
- Create and track the success of placing franchise stories in their respective local markets.
- Stay apprised of emerging trends and industry news that align with the brands’ marketing and business goals.
- Assist in development and execution of new initiatives and PR events.
- Assist in researching health and fitness trends to create pitches for local and national media.
- Understand and enforce all policies, procedures and standards.
- Follow all policies and procedures in Employee Handbook.

Qualifications:
- 4 year college degree in communications or public relations preferred.
- Possesses an understanding of process by which stories originate and are published in various media.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to develop relationships among the media and work closely with reporters and editors.
- Knowledge of best practices in social and traditional PR.
- Ability to multi-task, work independently, set priorities, and meet multiple deadlines in fast-paced environment.
- A love for fitness and the willingness to do what it takes to get the job done.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
