Public Relations Internship – Summer 2014 DKNY – New York, NY

The Donna Karan Company, LLC., one of the world’s leading fashion houses, is currently seeking students to join the Spring 2014 internship program in New York City.

Responsibilities:

• Assist in daily PR activities such as packing and unpacking samples and managing commercial invoices
• Maintain organization of sample closet in order to accurately check-in/check-out samples
• Keeping a detailed account of sample inventory by going through sample line and taking inventory with line list
• Utilize Fashion GPS (web sample tracking system) to track and manage samples and send-outs to and from magazines, celebrities and internal contacts
• Serve as a liaison between corporate office buildings, in addition to delivering and picking up needed samples
• Assist with runway show preparation by helping with invites and calling magazines for updated show contacts/guest lists
• Update Master Press Lists for domestic/international magazines and celebrity contacts
• Create assets for DKNY.com and DonnaKaran.com, in addition to our social media platforms (i.e. Facebook, Intagram, etc.)
• Collect press clippings
• Update DKNY Times Blog

Qualifications:

• Public Relations, Communication, Marketing and/or Business coursework preferred
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Must be highly organized and detail oriented
• Demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in the fashion industry
• Must be eligible to receive school credit for a Summer 2014 Internship. Applicants who cannot receive school credit for an internship will not be considered for the program.
