Position Summary

The intern supports the account team and Director of New Business at a healthcare advertising and communications agency by executing marketing and sales related project tasks as necessary to enable the team to better manage projects.

Position Requirements

  • Actively pursuing degree in marketing, business or communications (preferred, not required)
  • Previous agency internship ideal
  • Demonstrated leadership experience/potential
  • Experience and high proficiency working in Microsoft Word, Excel, and in developing advance PowerPoint presentations

  • Excellent research/data entry skills
  • Excellent problem solving skills
  • Superior oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to manage numerous projects, requests, and responsibilities
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • Interest in business development and marketing
  • Interest in learning about the pharmaceutical and healthcare industry

Position Responsibilities

Demonstrates behavior expected of a professional member of the organization, including but not limited to:

New Business department support

  • Supports account team
  • Prepares materials for internal new business team meetings
  • Documents meetings (conference reports) concisely and accurately
  • Creates a proposal library
  • Organizes a sample library
  • Researches and recommends (with AE) company backgrounders and necessary research
  • Performs research as directed by AE
  • Creates client proposals
  • Prepares materials for internal and client presentations

Project management

  • Maintains electronic and hard-copy job folders based on established procedures
  • Handles mail, delivery, and pickup tasks as necessary for account team
  • Performs other tasks as delegated by account team
  • Creates and maintains a new business prospect/customer database

Participates in professional growth and development

  • Attends Company sponsored in-services and/or continuing education

Participates in other activities:

  • Performs other job duties as assigned
  • Cross trains in other positions as requested
