FanSided Sports Network is one of the fastest growing independent networks on the internet, with nearly 300 sites covering a wide range of the sports and entertainment.
We are looking for talented, motivated, hard-working people who are interested in gaining experience writing on a regular basis. We have opportunities available for both editors and staff writers across a number of our sites.
We have sites dedicated to covering all of the major professional leagues and nearly 80 different collegiate programs. We also have sites centralized in major cities across the country rich in their sports tradition, as well as for teams in Europe and Canada. Our entertainment sites thoroughly cover things like television, gaming, food, movies, and more. Collectively the FanSided Network reaches millions of eager readers a month while continuing to see our reach grow.
We want writers to be passionate about what they’re covering, letting them write for a local team or school, or simply their favorite team(s).
While our editorial positions are paid opportunities, our staff writer positions currently are not. We do ask our staff writers to produce a minimum of four articles a month, but more is absolutely encouraged. This is a great learning experience and would let these writers work with, learn from, and network with a terrific collection of writers.
Numerous FanSided alumni have gone on to full time positions working with major newspapers, broadcast channels, or even professional teams. Additionally, nearly our entire leadership team has worked their way up from within. We believe in creating opportunities for those that earn them and are always looking to challenge hungry, aspiring writers who are looking for a chance.
While we are not looking for interns necessarily, this is still a great chance to get some valuable experience either as a writer, or in some cases, as an editor.
