The Communications and Marketing Department of the North Carolina Community Foundation has an exciting opening for a part-time communications professional in its Raleigh headquarters office. The position is for up to 25 hours per week. The position will report to the NCCF director of communications and marketing and help to support the communications and marketing needs of the statewide organization, with a focus on regional affiliates.
The incumbent will:
- Research, conduct interviews and write about Foundation grantees, donors, funds, programs and areas of funding for use in various print and online publications
- Create and post content for the Foundation’s website and social media channels
- Help to leverage social media to maximize engagement
- Assist with development of marketing collateral for individual funds
- Write and help to distribute news releases
- Take photos/video and upload to various web-based communications vehicles
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- College degree required; bachelor’s degree in journalism or communications and demonstrated working experience in the field of communications and marketing
- Excellent writer, editor and proofreader; knowledge of AP Style
- Knowledge of major social media platforms
- Great communications and customer-service skills
- Well-organized, independent worker with ability to contribute to cross-functional teams
- Understanding/knowledge of basic principles of public relations
- Knowledge of Microsoft office, desktop publishing and photography software
- Appreciation for North Carolina’s nonprofit sector
