The Wilson Tobs are currently seeking enthusiastic Director of Media Relations/Broadcaster candidates for the 2015 season. The Wilson Tobs are a member of the Coastal Plain League, a collegiate summer league certified by Major League Baseball and the NCAA. The Tobs play at Historic Fleming Stadium, a Wilson landmark, with 33home games during the summer season.
The Director of Media Relations will play a critical role in developing and managing relationships with local, regional and national media. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Play-by-play during Tobs 33 home games (Internet live streaming, select live TV broadcast)
- Host televised Tobs Talk pre-game show(Weekly)
- Facilitate all aspects of the club’s communication efforts, including the dissemination of information with a focus on baseball and business objectives.
- Foster a constructive relationship with local, regional and national media outlets to promote a positive external image of the Wilson Tobs.
- Write media press releases including: post game recaps, roster moves, breaking news, etc.
- Facilitate the production of all game day items for the media and coaching staff including: daily game notes, stat pack, organizational report, media clips, lineup cards, program insert, media guide, post game recap, etc.
- Maintain the Wilson Tobs website, mobile site, sustain social media outlets.
- Work closely with the ticket sales, group sales, marketing and community relations to increase media exposure; with a focus on increasing sales, brand awareness and community outreach.
- Ability to travel to all away games and events with Wilson Tobs team members as the media coordinator.
