Organization Overview:
The ECU Women’s Roundtable aims to support East Carolina University by creating a culture of giving; building a strong volunteer base of women committed to advancing the university; forming a deeper pool of women capable of assuming leadership roles at ECU; building community among women graduates and providing a channel for alumnae to play an active role in the university.
Through leadership, service, networking, mentoring and philanthropy, the Roundtable recognizes the role women play in shaping the future of the region, the state and the nation.
Internship Overview:
While working with three different social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn) this internship will provide experience in building social media campaigns, as well as content creation. Each week the Women’s Roundtable produces a #WomenLeadWednesday story for Facebook and Twitter and the WRT is working on a long-term project, “Featured Female Philanthropist.” The intern for this job will need to be up-to-date on current activities of East Carolina University, as well as have a passion for women’s leadership, philanthropy and service. Throughout the internship, the student will learn how to use segmentation through their post to help better target the Women’s Roundtable audience and engage new participants on the social media accounts.
Responsibilities:
- Online outreach and promotion using three social media accounts (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Monitor and post on social networks utilizing sites such as Hootsuite
- Help create #WomenLeadWednesday posts
- Work on long-term projects such as “Featured Female Philanthropist”
- Statistical growth analysis weekly
Skills:
- Have a passion for social media
- Experience managing social media accounts for an organization (of any size) is preferred
- Keen eye for content that fits the demographic of the WRT
- Preferably a Junior, Senior or Graduate student
