Music Maker Relief Foundation is a 501c3 nonprofit organization that preserves American musical traditions by directly supporting the musicians that make it, ensuring their voices will not be silences by poverty and the passage of time. Music Maker gives future generations access to their cultural heritage through documentation, education and live performance programs that build knowledge of and appreciation for America’s musical traditions.
Since our founding in 1994, we have partnered with nearly 400 artists, issued more than 170 CDs and reached nearly 2 million people with live performances in 40 states, and 22 countries around the globe.

Position: Advancement Coordinator
This is a full-time position with medical benefits and a starting salary in the low to mid $30s. We would like someone to start in mid-February or early March. Music Maker cannot pay to relocate candidates for this position.
Annual Giving
· Create and implement fundraising plans for Annual Fund donors
· Manage and implement all direct mail appeals
o Assist with design of mailing materials
o Write annual fund appeals and letters with Giving Coordinator
o Coordinate with printer and mail house to ensure timely mailing
· Process all web and mailed donations/orders and maintain donor records o Ensure prompt shipping of orders with Community Coordinator
o Regularly assess database and online donations portal
· Plan and implement donor recognition and stewardship protocols
Grant Writing
· Identify prospective funding from grantors including but not limited to foundations, government agencies and corporations
· Manage all grant writing efforts, while assisting with project development and implementation of all grant funded initiatives
· Manage reporting and updates to grantors
· Develop relationships with prospective and current grantors
Communications
• Work together with staff on promotional calendar
· Write content and appeals for weekly e-newsletter, website, annual report and social media
· Regularly assess communications efforts to donors
Special Projects
· Assist with the development and implementation of Music Maker events and exhibits
· Design and implement plans for donor cultivation at exhibits and events
· Arrange travel for Executive Director
Minimum Qualifications:
Ideal candidate has an entrepreneurial spirit and is flexible in their thinking and ability to move between different projects throughout the day. You must be extremely organized and have exemplary written and oral communication skills. Candidate must possess a Bachelor’s degree and 1-2 years professional work experience.
Preferred Qualifications Passion for Southern music.
