ECU NEWS SERVICES: Paid internship available at 15-20 hours per week in a diverse learning environment focused on telling the story of the university using web, social media, print, video and still photography. The position is based on main campus and will be available May 16. This is a hands-on position where you will be asked to gather information and write stories or news releases following AP style. Our intern is responsible for writing Pirate Profiles, which spotlights an outstanding student at ECU every three weeks on www.ecu.edu. The intern is responsible for contacting the student to be profiled, developing questions, setting up interviews and photography and completing the story before deadline. Other opportunities will include enterprise stories, event and meeting coverage and news releases.
The right candidate will be able to meet deadlines, work well with others and be curious, flexible, resourceful, accurate and dependable. You will work with an experienced news staff and media relations professionals. The ideal candidate would work this summer and fall semester 2016, spring semester 2017 and possibly longer depending on success in the position and availability.
