Who are we? FreshSpire is a mobile app that connects grocers and consumers to interactively reduce food waste. Information about markdowns on grocery store perishables is sent to users via a mobile application to them to take advantage of timesensitive deals and liquidate inventory that would otherwise be wasted. Description: The marketing intern positions run from about May 16th to August 5th. We will be conducting pilots with local grocery stores during the summer and need marketing experts LIKE YOU to help us expand our outreach during this pilot phase. You’ll be working directly with Freshspire leadership throughout the summer, in person and/or through regular Google Hangouts (some of the team is remote relative to the Triangle area) as well as with grocery stores to implement and execute marketing strategies! Responsibilities will include:
● Outreach: Creating a brand presence & customer acquisition ○ Organizing and executing social media posts. (Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, LinkedIn, Blog) ○ Attending various events (food festivals,entrepreneurship events, interest group meetings, etc) to spread Freshspire’s vision and acquire customers. ○ Visiting grocery stores to collect product & pricing information to update our database ● Management: ○ Joining weekly Freshspire team calls to update and continue developing gotomarket strategy ○ Organizing and analyzing results from instore pilot tests.
Requirements: ● Location of residence is the Triangle area. (However, we will also look at applications from the Charlotte area). ● Preferred prior experience with social media management (Hootsuite, Buffer, etc.) ● Preference for individuals who are currently pursuing a degree in business management, entrepreneurship, and/or marketing. ● Preferred talent with graphic design (for marketing materials). ● Available to work 10-12 hours per week. ● Ability to transport yourself to meeting locations. ● Willingness to bring high energy and enthusiasm to the team!
