Community Outreach Internship

Community Outreach Internship
The Martin/Pitt Partnership for Children [MPPfC] is currently seeking a Fall semester intern in our Greenville office. The Martin/Pitt Partnership for Children brings together all the people involved in a young child’s early years — families, teachers, doctors, childcare professionals, caregivers, social workers, and many others — to ensure every child has all they need for healthy growth and development. This internship will assist the Community Outreach Director with establishing relationships with businesses and organizations within Pitt county, increasing awareness of the Partnership’s various programs, and working to create a greater following for the Partnership on social media and among various community groups. Responsibilities will include assisting with event planning and execution, creating news releases, social media content creation, and general community outreach initiatives. Helpful skills/knowledge include: Social media [Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Hootsuite, etc.], public speaking, and an outgoing personality. A knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite would be beneficial, though it is not required.
This internship is offered for credit. The position is not paid, but offers the student an incredible opportunity to network with community leaders, as well as gain hands-on skills in non-profit communications and public relations. Interested students should send a cover letter, resume, and Fall semester availability during the Partnership’s hours of operation to Community Outreach Director Amanda Parmelee at aparmelee@mppfc.org.
