Scholarship Funding to Help North Carolina Students
LIVE, LEARN and INTERN in the Washington, DC this Summer
 
Through the generosity of North Carolina business leader Louis DeJoy and his wife Aldona Wos, The Fund for American Studies (TFAS) is pleased to announce that there is $50,000 in scholarship funding available to help college students from North Carolina attend summer academic internship programs in Washington, DC.
 
All undergraduate students attending colleges and universities in North Carolina as well as NC residents attending schools outside of the state are invited to apply by the March 14, 2017 deadline. These scholarships will allow the students to be placed in an internship, enroll in courses accredited by George Mason University and live in furnished housing on George Washington University’s downtown campus.

INTERNSHIPS + CLASSES FOR CREDIT
Spend your summer gaining real-world experience in the office and classroom
 
Set yourself apart when it comes time to find your first job after graduation by interning in public policy, international affairs, journalism or another top field. You will maximize y our time this summer by also taking courses for 3 to 9 transferable credits from George Mason University. 
 
Unlike other programs, we guarantee you an internship. Our staff works to place you with an organization that fits your skills and career goals.

  • Develop a strategic marketing plan for a business group lobbying a bill on Capitol Hill.
  • Attend a Congressional briefing and write a detailed online report.
