As an intern for ECU’s Division of University Advancement, you will work with a leadership team that is spread across multiple sectors. Each has its own processes and objectives but the mission is the same: to help East Carolina University become a national model for student success, public service, and regional transformation through education, research, creative activities, and service.
We appreciate students with initiative, curiosity, and commitment. Experience or interest in philanthropy, sales, communication, and/or marketing would be ideal.

Position Details:
This internship is available for undergraduate class credit (3 credit hours) and may be available for two consecutive semesters. Through the members of the leadership team, interns will conduct surveys and learn to use various training tools specific to the Division to develop a 12-month training calendar for new and experienced fundraisers. They will learn how to develop a comprehensive digital engagement strategy and utilize social media for professional purposes. Team members will provide writing opportunities, data entry and database experience, along with research opportunities and an overview of non-profit management. They will provide professional communication and video production training, as well as Excel utilization. All leadership team members will expect discretion to be practiced by the intern, as specific databases used by the Division contains confidential information.
